Castle adventure
The Posavje Museum of Brežice is located in the mighty Castle Brežice and holds the richest museum collection far and wide. Listen to its stone walls, majestic wall paintings and numerous museum artefacts, which tell the stories of the inhabitants of the Posavje plains, fields and hills. Explore the museum in a guided tour and choose one of the interactive workshops. You will be faced with various tasks and diverse experiences that bring a true castle adventure to life.
Indulge yourself in the magic of history and discover the rich collection of the Posavje Museum in the beautiful Castle Brežice. The Knight's Hall with its mythological fresco will take you over, while permanent and occasional exhibitions will take you from the oldest days to the present.
HIKE ALONG THE VIPER’S TRAIL
Wine is an important part of the local culture of Gorjanci and the wider region of Posavje. A hiking trail organised by the local wine-growing and tourist association - Gadova peč passes through vineyards and forests, past fields and through meadows to the typical Vlaška wine houses. On the hike, you will stop at vipers’ nests, typical wine houses and vineyard cottages, where you will taste local Cviček wine and refresh yourself with other home-made delicacies. You will be greeted by a friendly viper, which is the mascot of the Gadova peč association.

BAKING UNLEAVENED BREAD
The preparation of food through time reveals special features of the local culture. If you want to bake traditional old-style bread, you have to know the material of the earth bread oven and how to build it, how to start a fire with a flint and how to prepare just the right dough using basic ingredients. An experience full of challenges that rewards you with delicious bread from an authentic old-style wood-fired oven.

VISIT VINEYARD COTTAGES ON DUTY
We promise you an unforgettable adventure of wine houses and vineyard cottages. You will get to know small local wine growers, the indigenous Slovenian variety cviček and taste authentic home-made delicacies that go best alongside wine. Next to the Tuscan Chianti, Cviček is the only wine in the world made from red and white varieties of grapes. Since 2001, it has been legally protected with recognised traditional denomination, and it is produced exclusively in the Dolenjska wine-growing region.
